What information we collect

When you use LifeStitch, we collect the following personal information:

Your name and email address when you create an account or join our waitlist. Photos, videos, voicemails and any other files you choose to upload to your archive. Basic usage information such as when you log in and how you interact with the platform.

We collect this information solely to provide you with the LifeStitch service — to allow you to create and manage your personal memory archive and, when you choose, to generate tribute videos.

We do not collect your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering the service you have signed up for.

Your files belong to you and only you

Every photo, video, or document you upload to LifeStitch is stored in a private folder that belongs exclusively to your account. No other LifeStitch user can see, access or interact with your files in any way. This is enforced at the database level — not just a setting.

Your files are stored at a unique path tied to your personal account ID. Even if someone knew our storage system existed, they could not find or access your files without that ID.

How facial recognition works

Our optional facial recognition feature is designed to save you time when organising memories. Only when enabled, it analyses faces in your uploaded photos and checks them only against faces from your own previously confirmed photos — never anyone else's.

Every suggestion requires your explicit approval before anything happens. You review, you decide, you confirm. You can opt out of this feature at any time in your account settings, and request deletion of all associated data by emailing us at hello@lifestitch.com.au.

Your memories are never used to train models

Your photos, videos, voicemails and any other documents are never used to train any model or system.

Facial recognition processes your images to identify faces and stores only a mathematical representation — not the images themselves. This data is linked exclusively to your account and is never shared with third parties, used for advertising, or sold to data brokers.

Your memories exist in our system for one purpose only: to help you preserve and celebrate the people you love.

You are always in control

Facial recognition is entirely opt-in. You choose whether to enable it, and you can turn it off at any time.

You can download all your files at any time. If you close your account, you have 30 days to download your memories before they are permanently deleted from our systems.

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing hello@lifestitch.com.au. We will process this within 7 days and send confirmation when complete.

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you also have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to request corrections if it is inaccurate. To make such a request, please contact us at hello@lifestitch.com.au.

How we keep your data safe

LifeStitch uses a small number of trusted, enterprise-grade services — all chosen specifically for their strong privacy, security and compliance track records. Every provider we use is bound by strict data processing agreements.

Your uploaded files are stored in an isolated, encrypted private folder. Our video generation service receives only the specific photos selected for a render and does not retain your media after the render is complete. Our email service receives only your email address for delivery purposes and nothing more.

Please note that some of our service providers store and process data on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States. These providers maintain internationally recognised security and privacy certifications. By using LifeStitch, you consent to this overseas processing. We take all reasonable steps to ensure your data is treated consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

None of our providers sell your data or use it for advertising.
